NEWS UPDATE 13 JUNE 2014: Morris Photographic Centre to cease trading
Morris Photographic Centre, which sells photographic equipment in-store and online, has sought help from Coventry-based BRI Business Recovery and Insolvency, according to well-placed sources.
AP understands that BRI sent creditors a letter informing them that Morris Photographic Centre has asked BRI for help in drawing up an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA).
An IVA is an agreement with creditors to pay off debts.
According to a message posted on Morris Photographic’s Facebook page on 2 June, the store has closed its doors for ‘stock taking for a couple of days’.

Morris Photographic, formed in 1979 and originally based in Oxford, moved to a new showroom in Chipping Norton in 2006.
It is based at Unit 9, Worcester Road Industrial Estate.
The firm also sells equipment through its website. However, items on the site are currently listed as ‘out of stock,’ with a separate message on the site stating that the store is closed for a stock take.

A BRI representative with knowledge of the situation could not be reached for comment at the time of writing.
Colin Morris, of Morris Photographic, told AP that he will issue a statement on the matter, though he has not indicated when this will be.
AP will publish further details in due course.
The store’s customer helpline number is automatically re-routed to a recorded message that gives no indication of any problems at the business.
Morris Photographic Centre was registered as a limited partnership on 7 January 2013, according to records held at Companies House.
It has not yet filed any accounts under the limited partnership arrangement.
