Panasonic has updated the firmware for its DMC-LX3 digital compact camera, in a move designed to add improvements including a faster AF time.

Panasonic claims that firmware version 2.1 ‘makes it possible to speed up AF time by reducing it to approximately 0.5sec at the wide end’.

Features added also include a ‘1:1’ aspect ratio as a shooting option.

Meanwhile, a High Dynamic option has been added to the scene mode and the exposure compensation range and bracketing setting has been widened, according to Panasonic.

And the photographer’s name can now be embedded to the image file EXIF data.
